Domaine Marquis d Angerville Pommard Combes Dessus 2011

The most powerful red wines of the Côte de Beaune emanate from Pommard, where complex soils with a high proportion of iron-rich clay produce deep-coloured, relatively tannic wines. Combes Dessus is a tiny 0.38 hectare parcel which was the first of the d’Angerville vineyards to have been converted to biodynamic viticulture. Domaine Marquis D’Angerville wines are revered around the world for their exquisite purity, precision and elegance

WINEMAKER NOTES

Domaine Marquis d'Angerville

by Guillaume d’Angerville

The 2011 vintage is dark and rather brooding with dried violets and roses on the nose, allied to red and black fruit compote. The palate is well balanced and structured with succulent ripe tannin, plenty of black cherry and raspberry fruit, almost confit in style with fine balance towards the spicy finish that displays a touch of sinew
