Following its predecessors, such as the 2015 vintage which won "Dan Berger's International Wine Competition, 2015: Chairman's Award", the 2018 Amor Fati Grenache has turned out to be quite the show stopper with very dark and vibrant aromatics and luscious texture.
Originated in Murmur Vineyard, 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean, this vineyard excels in the varietal expression of cool climate Rhone and Burgundian Varietals. The 2018 Vintage can be characterized by a long and gradual growing season. A unique attribute to 2018 was that no temperature spikes occurred during the crucial months of September and October, which allowed winemakers to make harvest decisions based on stylistic goals which can be thwarted due to inclement weather. The 2018 Amor Fati Grenache was harvested on October 26, 2018 by hand, gently destemmed and sorted by hand. The freshly destemmed fruit was transferred to puncheons and large foudre for 11 days throughout fermentation. Fresh wines were transferred to 500L puncheons (20% New) on November 10, 2018.
