Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest properties in Bordeaux. The vineyard was first planted in the 13th century by Bertrand de Goth, the youngest son of a noble family from Bordeaux. He was the Archbishop of Bordeaux and became Pope in 1305, then took the name of Clément V. The vineyard was run by the Bordeaux Archbishopry until the French Revolution. The estate can take pride in the production of wine in the same vineyards for over 7 centuries

Château Pape Clément

by Bernard Magrez
Château Pape Clément Blanc is one of the most concentrated, deep, and full-bodied whites in the Bordeaux region, offering up a red wine-like structure to go with beautiful notes of white grapefruit, Meyer lemon, crushed rocks, and exotic flowers. A blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 36% Sémillon, 9% Sauvignon Gris, and 5% Muscadelle, all from deep gravelly soils and brought up in 55% new French oak, this incredibly textured, pure, balanced white needs 3-4 years of bottle age and will keep for two decades or more
