With historical records tracing its history back to 1143, Château du Tertre is one of the oldest properties in the Left Bank’s Medoc area of Bordeaux. It took its name from its relatively elevated situation - the word “tertre” translating in English as “mound” or “hillock”, one of the highest gravel outcrops in the Médoc area, and certainly one of the highest in the Margaux appellation. It induces a slightly cooler, micro-climate that gives a lot of freshness and elegance to the wines

Chateau du Tertre

by Eric Albada Jelgersma
Fresh and lively, with pretty red and blue fruit aromas, as well as lots of sappy herbal and floral nuances. It is concentrated on the palate, with ripe tannins, a solid spine of acidity, and a beautiful overall balance. A more sculpted feel to 2020 than at many estates in Margaux
