Grand Vin De Bourgogne - Nuits-Saint-Georges 2012

This “Réserve Spéciale” is a rare combination of many treasures from Burgundy. It delivers lovely aromas of cherry, strawberry and blackcurrant and as it matures, it will develop notes of leather, truffle, fur and game. This wine is powerful and elegant, fresh and full-bodied and lingers in the mouth with a delicious, well-built and round aftertaste.

The Sun – 2000
Oil on canvas – 200 x 280 cm

This painting shows a multiple of enthusiastic individuals, all identical and smiling, facing the sun – the all-important factor in any traditional agrarian society, not least a figure of speech for the Great Helmsman.

Grand Vin De Bordeaux - Rive Droite 2012

This wine is the result of a careful selection of the best parcels from the “Rive Droite” area in Bordeaux. It is a fresh, elegant and very generous wine, with beautiful aromas of cherry, licorice and dried plum. The vines are all more than 40 years old, and the final blend is made of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc.

Serving temperature: 16 to 17°C

Kung Fu 1 – 2005
Oil canvas – 220 x 200 cm

This painting shows three men practicing Kung-Fu, a martial art that demands a balance between body and mind, as much as a wine calls for equilibrium between strength and finesse.

Ponts des Arts

by Arthur de Villepin and Thibault Pontallier
This 2012 Collection, by contrast to the 2010 and 2011 vintages, presents Pont des Arts’ first collaboration with a contemporary artist: the globally recognised Yue Minjun. After having worked with the great master Zao Wou-Ki, it was time to discover and expose an artist representing China´s new generation. Yue Minjun’s art is modern, eye catchy and rich with meaning. This time going to Beijing, the founders went to Yue Minjun’s atelier to carefully match each of the paintings to the wines from the Bordeaux and Burgundy region. With challenging weather in France, the 2012 vintage produced very small quantities, yet these wines are proving exceptional with a great tannic structure and significant ageing ability in Burgundy and real definition and excellent balance in Bordeaux. This 2012 collection also includes a new appellation, the outstanding Lalande-de-Pomerol, a wine of great elegance and balance.
