Although renewed reputation has pushed the price up a little in recent years, Château Saint-Pierre still represents an outstanding good value. Stylistically as well as geographically, the wines fall between those of Pauillac and Margaux, displaying a wonderfully fragrant, Margaux-like nose, allied to a dense, cassis laden palate more akin to Pauillac

Château Saint-Pierre

by Jean-Louis Triaud and François Martin
The 2020 vintage is a blend of 79% Cabernet sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet franc. The nose bursts with baked blackberries, stewed plums and cassis, followed by hints of dried mint, chocolate box and tapenade, with a waft of pencil lead. On the palate, it opens with velvety, tender, and very fine tannins. It has generous structure and persistent flavors, with an exceptionally long and intense finish
