Chateau Leoville Barton

by Lilian Barton Sartorius
The 2008 vintage is often overlooked, as it was overshadowed by the landmark 2009 and 2010 vintages. One great positive of this is that it can offer exceptional value by comparison. It has a lovely, heart-warming bouquet of ripe blackberry and cedar, touches of graphite, and crushed violets. It is loaded with massive, chewy tannins that coat the mouth while the underlying essence of dark, brooding blackcurrant fruit is perfectly complemented by notes of coffee and chocolate. The overall is nicely balanced acidity and a long, decadent finish
