Fifty years ago, Chassagne-Montrachet vineyard was mainly red. Indeed Chassagne is very good terroir for red wines, with similar limestone as the Côte de Nuits. Our Château de Chassagne-Montrachet Red wine is a monopoly planted on 2.1 hectares in the Clos Du Château de Chassagne-Montrachet with 55 to 75 years old pinot noir vines. Wine Enthusiast ratings 2019 for vintage 2017: 91/100 This young wine has considerable structure along with big red-berry fruits. Its firm, dense character will allow it to age well and develop into a concentrated wine. Drink from 2022.

Winemaker Notes

Nathalie Bernard

Domaine Bader-Mimeur

by Nathalie Bernard
The grapes are handpicked with the utmost care, then 100% de-stemmed. The maceration takes place in big wood opened-tank during 2 weeks with manual punch downs and pump overs. Then the wine is aged in french oak barrels during one year.
