Using the three main Champagne grapes, Pinor Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, Charles Heidsiek is one of the most prestigious houses in Champagne, producing both classic brut and rose non-vintage wines, both aged for three years and aged in chalk cellars for up to 12 years. Blanc des Millénaires is the top wine of the house, produced with Chardonnay grapes exclusively from the Côte des Blancs
The “house” dates back to the 1950’s when Charles Heidsiek invested in cellars, almost 20 meters underground. Known as Champaign Charlie who also pioneered the promotion of champagne in the U.S.

This marked a return to the “traditional” vintage, following the extremely exuberant Millésime 2006. Precipitation fostered grape development without penalising the accumulation of sugar. The sun’s return at harvest has helped Pinots offering strength and great structure. Chardonnays are precise with a freshness that suggests slow ageing.
The Blanc des Millénaires takes its incomparable nuances from the pale surroundings of the thousand-year-old Crayères, or chalk cellars. Because of their exceptional qualities, few Blancs de Blancs will reach this level of excellence.
