Domaine Guiberteau
Founded at the beginning of the 20th century, it is now in the hands of the founder's great grandson, Romain Guiberteau. The domain is 9.4 hectares, 7 of which are located in the great terroir of Brézé. A little more than half of the surface is planted to Chenin with the remainder planted to Cabernet Franc. Age of vines varies between 4 and 80 years old, with a hefty proportion of old vines. In 2000, Romain converted the vineyards to organic management and in 2003, he began the process towards the AB organic certification, obtaining it in 2007

Domaine Guiberteau

by Romain Guiberteau
Once a failed law student, now one of the top quality winemakers in Loire, Romain Guiberteau has definitely earnt his badge. On returning home to Loire after quitting his university studies, he persuaded Clos Rougeard's Dani Foucalt to help him rejuvenate his family's vineyards. Influences of Clos Rougeard, Dagueneau and Thierry Germain are not lacking when you dig a little. The acidity, power and gleaming clarity of these whites are especially noticeable
