Felsina | Buy Wine Future | Vinsent.wine
Felsina belongs to the cult labels of Tuscany. Producing one of the finest range of age-worthy and complex wines in all the area, the estate shows a profound respect for the Tuscan tradition of allowing the historic varietal Sangiovese Grosso - the best clone of Sangiovese - to thrive using only old massale selections from the best performing old vines. Never once over the years did Felsina fall to the temptation of blending Sangiovese with international varieties like Merlot or Cabernet sauvignon. As a result, the estate has remained steadfast by consistently producing a style of wines that is elegant and yet intense, something only a handful of Chianti Classico producers are able to achieve

Winemaker Notes

Felsina wines are deep, black fruity, with classic Tuscan spices, smoky tones and a deft touch of new oak. They will have a bit of tannin in their youths, although always well-integrated into the body of the wine. As Sangiovese is much more adept at picking up the underlying soil nuances than either Cabernet sauvignon or Merlot, Felsina’s bottlings are amongst the most classic expressions of Tuscan wine to be found in the market today
