Domaine Les Pallières
Situated in a north-west facing bowl high up above the village of Gigondas on the lower slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Domaine Les Pallières is the finest estate in Gigondas and certainly one of the finest estates in the Southern Rhône. In 1998, the property was bought by a consortium comprising Daniel and Frédéric Brunier of the leading Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, and Kermit Lynch, the respected Californian importer of top artisanal French wines. After decades of neglect, Pallières’ renaissance had then begun! If you are familiar with the wines of Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, you know that grapes in the hands of the Brunier brothers are treated respectfully to coax nuance and finesse

Domaine Les Pallières

by Frédéric and Daniel Brunier
Domaine Les Pallières only produces two cuvées. ‘Racines’ is made from vines averaging 100 years and grown around the house on clay and limestone soils. The second cuvée ‘Terrasse du Diable’ is made from grapes grown on the higher terraces where the vines are 60 to 80-year-old and planted on a mix of clay, chalk and volcanic schist soils. At once gutsy, elegant, warm and refined, these are superb wines made for aging
